Classified Inside Sales

Sells, inputs and solicits classified and digital advertisements for new and existing transient and commercial customers by telephone, answers incoming telephone calls from new and existing advertisers, processes legals and obituaries for publication while carrying out standard procedures and complying with applicable advertising regulations including HUD, civil rights, local, state, and federal laws.
All functions must be performed within established company standards for quality and quantity of work, and other qualification standards such as attendance and rules of conduct; other duties may be assigned.
Sells, processes and secures advertisement orders for publication; receives and keys all customer data into classified computer system; set-up billing account, processes credit card transactions and follows up with credit department.
Establishes professional relationship and works with customers in determining needs and ensures satisfaction; communicates product services such as use of logos, graphics, borders, photos, special rates, etc.
Works with Ad Production department to facilitate advertisers' concerns and/or requests; and proofs advertisements to customers, modifies and/or cancels advertisements as necessary.
Solicits renewals from expiring advertisements. Calls prospective customers to explain type of service or products and rates offered.
Provides assistance with training of new and existing employees including instruction of the ATS Classified system, standard policies and procedures, credit problem handling and resolutions, as well as informing department manager of progress and/or problems.
Coordinates promotions and directories; recommends potential ideas/ directories along with presenting potential increases in revenue and positive customer value
Maintains account files, prepares and submits report of sales activities to department manager. Provides tear sheets to customers and processes charges upon request.
Acquires, scans and converts graphics, photographs and electronic files into logos, attention-getters, obituary photos or ad copy for publication.
Monitors and processes advertisements received through individual and departmental email.
Responsible for referring any unusual or complex matters to the department manager.
Bachelor's degree in or equivalent combination of education and experience. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and one to two years related experience and/or training with an emphasis on telephone sales and classified advertising; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity and a working knowledge of PC computer systems required. Prior classified sales experience preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
