District Supervisor

The District Supervisor assists in a warehouse environment with the receiving, unloading, breakdown and distribution of newspaper bundles to the proper work stations or storage areas within the warehouse. Employee is also responsible for the accurate distribution of newspapers by route to the single copy and home delivery carrier force, and for the secure storage and distribution of carrier supplies (carrier bags). Duties also include the inspection and routine cleaning of warehouse equipment; as well as the stacking of pallets and cardboard in the proper locations for return to the respective publications for all distribution centers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
All functions must be performed within established company standards for quality and quantity of work, and other qualification standards such as attendance and rules of conduct; other duties may be assigned.
Certifies appropriate warehouse staff on forklift and pallet jack operation.
Establishes daily zoning through use of pre-print reports.
Responsible for timely and expeditious product flow from Printer to carriers at distribution centers.
Receives products from Printer's larger vehicle and stages products in Distribution center by carrier within preprint zone to expedite handoff to carriers.
Organizes and distributes CIS paperwork to carriers.
Stages bundles and loose odds of product in correct amount and in correct pre-print zone to carriers.
Organizes warehouse staff to stack and hand off papers to carriers.
Manages the weekend stuffing operation.
Contacts late carriers when necessary.
Contacts Zone Manager regarding problems with carriers, facilities, contract haulers or equipment.
Oversees operations and equipment maintenance at all distribution centers.
Oversees the disbursement of circulation supplies on night operations to contract carriers, truck driver contractors, and circulation district managers, as requested based on procedures established to authorize disbursements.
Maintains and balances inventory of carrier supplies on a daily basis or at end of shift after any disbursements.
Cleans work area and parking lot during and at the end of each work shift; (i.e. removes excess newspapers, inserts, bands and debris, sweeps, and empties trash containers).
While handling preprint zones, ensures correct zones are distributed to carriers.
Responsible for ensuring pick up windows are set up to expedite delivery.
Responsible for efficient storing and movement of products at distribution center.
The employee is expected to handle routine tasks while meeting production deadlines.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic understanding of production operations helpful.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
A valid New Jersey driver's license is required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
